UPS LOGISTICS ADDS UNI-DATA TO SERVICE PARTS LOGISTICS NETWORK    UPS Logistics Group, a subsidiary of United Parcel Service, has acquired a 75-percent interest in UNI-DATA AG, a German-based service parts logistics provider. Terms were not disclosed.
   UNI-DATA, based in Schwaig, Germany, provides service parts logistics and high-tech supply chain management, focusing on eastern Europe and Germany.
   The company is one of seven acquisitions UPS Logistics has made in the past 18 months, adding to their network of supply chain management and service parts industry.
   UNI-DATA will be integrated into a network that includes Burnham, Livingston Inc., Comlasa, Comp Log, Sinon Sosecom, and Poly Sys Electronic Systems. These companies have a combined market presence    covering North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
   'Our goal is to create a global service parts logistics network where, in a few hours, we can get parts to our customer's customers,' a UPS spokesperson said. 'Germany is a critical market.'
   The acquisition of UNI-DATA expands the reach of Atlanta-based UPS's service parts logistics network. France marks the only area of UNI-DATA's market already service by UPS Logistics' existing network.
   UPS says five of the seven recent acquisitions are fully integrated into the UPS network. Poly Sys, acquired on May 2, is still undergoing the service integration process.
   UNI-DATA founders Johann and Martin Maier will remain involved in the company, UPS said. Johann has served as chief executive and Martin has been chief operating officer. Odewald & Compagnie, a German private equity firm, had been the majority shareholder of the company.
