UPS LOGISTICS BUYS FRENCH LOGISTICS COMPANY
The UPS Logistics Group has agreed to acquire Finon Sofecome, a leading
French logistic company.
With the acquisition, UPS Logistics, a subsidiary of United Parcel
Service, expands its European network for its service parts logistics
business. This includes storage, transport and management of critical parts and
components, including repair operations and quality inspection.
Finon Sofecome, a unit of French holding company Qualis, is based in
Paris and posted 1998 revenue of $70 million. The company has 45 locations in France,
primarily for field stocking and repair.
