UPS has debuted a new offering for time-sensitive international heavyweight shipments.
Worldwide Express FreightSM, an extension of its Worldwide Express program, is geared toward high-value pallets weighing more than 150 pounds, shipping them on a guaranteed, day-definite basis.
The service includes overnight shipping to the United States from Asia, Europe, and Central and South America. Shipments destined for Europe from the United States and Asia-Pacific can be shipped guaranteed in two days. According to a press release, the new program will focus on shippers in the high-tech, automotive, industrial and healthcare segments.
“Global commerce is vital for our customers,” UPS’ marketing president Ed Buckley said in a statement. “Our customers depend on the speed, reliability and visibility that UPS provides with our package express services.”
The program also includes online tracking and automated shipment preparation. – Jon Ross
