UPS starts U.S.-Mexico ground service

      UPS has expanded its offerings to Mexico, launching a guaranteed ground package delivery service between the United States and Mexico, and growing its expedited LCL service from Asia.
   The integrator’s ground service offers door-to-door delivery between four and eight days, including customs clearance, end-to-end visibility and a money-back guarantee for deliveries that don’t make the cutoff.
   UPS officials hope to tap into trade between the United States and Mexico, which according to the U.S. Commerce Department has increased by 113 percent over the past decade.
   The company’s UPS Preferred Less-Than-Container Load service, which was first launched in Japan in 2010, is offered to Guadalajara, Mexico City and Monterrey. Officials hope to tap into the retail, industrial and automotive industries with the expansion.  
   “Mexico is an extremely important market for UPS and our customers,” UPS’ Romaine Seguin said in a statement. “Mexico was the United States’ second largest export market in 2012, and is its largest importer of U.S. computer and electronic parts. By leveraging UPS logistics expertise, we can help our customers maximize the potential this market has to offer.”
