“UPS My Choice has received outstanding customer response and continues to experience rapid growth with one new consumer enrollment every six seconds,” said Alan Gershenhorn, UPS executive vice president and chief commercial officer. “Our mobile apps allow users to access UPS My Choice with their smart phone in a streamlined manner, and offers several delivery and shipping solutions that fit their needs.”
The Access Point network allows consumers to pick up packages when it is inconvenient for them to wait at home. UPS drivers will leave a note on a consumer’s door informing him or her the package can be picked up at an access point. These access points are local businesses selected based on being “approximately 10 minutes or less from the consumer’s delivery address.”
Consumers can also deliver pre-labeled and prepaid packages to access point locations during store hours.
The company said UPS My Choice is already used by more than 10 million U.S. consumers. It has 300 access point locations in New York City and Chicago.
