UPSÆs Stoffel retires

Effective Jan. 1, UPS said Robert 'Bob' Stoffel, senior vice president for supply chain, strategy, engineering and sustainability, will retire after 35 years with the company.

Stoffel started with the company as a part-time truck loader and rose to UPS's highest ranks. He became part of the UPS's Management Committee in 2004.

Stoffel's responsibilities for supply chain, engineering and sustainability will be assumed by Chief Operating Officer David Abney, while his responsibilities in strategy have been assigned to Alan Gershenhorn, senior vice president for worldwide sales and marketing.
