US Airways awards agent contract in Holland

US Airways said Thursday it has awarded contracts for air cargo service agency in Belgium and the Netherlands to European Cargo Services (ECS).

In Belgium the airline is now represented by Swift Air, while Globe Air Cargo has taken over as US Airways' general sales agent representative in the Netherlands. Swift and Globe, wholly owned companies within the ECS group, took over the new contracts on July 1.

The airline operates daily Boeing 757 flights from Brussels and Amsterdam to its International Gateway in Philadelphia.

Swift Air and Globe Air Cargo are expected to generate up to 500 tons of cargo per year for US Airways from each country.

'These are important contract wins for us, and provide an opportunity to market US Airways' exceptional network across North America to freight forwarders throughout Belgium and the Netherlands,' said Guy Tordjman, president of ECS.
