USAID AWARDS IRAQI AIRPORT MANAGEMENT CONTRACT

   SkyLink Air and Logistics Support (USA) Inc. will be in charge of reopening and operating Iraq's three commercial airports under a $2.5 million prime contract award from the U.S. Agency for International Development.

   Washington, D.C.-based SkyLink provides aviation logistics support to international agencies and governments.

   The contract is one of eight major procurement awards issued by USAID as part of efforts to rebuild Iraq. The airports in Baghdad, Mosul and Basra are considered crucial to for humanitarian relief and reconstruction efforts in post-war Iraq.

   SkyLink will eventually turn over management of the airports to Iraqi staff.
