USDA allows Chilean pomegranates, baby kiwis imports

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service said it will start issuing permits for the import into the United States of fresh pomegranates and baby kiwi fruits from Chile.

The agency said, based on its analysis, the application of one or more designated phytosanitary measures will be sufficient to mitigate the risks of introducing plant pests or noxious weeds via the importation of these fruits.
