USDA enhances Web-based permit system

USDA enhances Web-based permit system    The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service said this week its new electronic permitting system has been expanded to include applications for permits issued by the Veterinary Services’ National Center for Import and Export.
The system allows applicants to apply for and track permits, and receive notifications, as well as copies, over the Internet. USDA launched the system on April 3.
In addition to online applications, the system provides a payment engine to cover any application fees.
To use the system, users must first register with USDA’s eAuthentication system. For more information about the agency’s online permit program, access: http://www.aphis.usda.gov/permits/learn_epermits.shtml.
