USDA SETS RESTRICTIONS ON USED FARM EQUIPMENT IMPORTS

   The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has finalized its regulations for imported used farm equipment from regions affected by foot-and-mouth disease.

   The equipment must be steam-cleaned of dirt prior to export to the United States. Dirt particles may carry the contagious cattle disease, APHIS said.
