USF REDDAWAY OPENS TWO PACIFIC NORTHWEST TERMINALS

USF Reddaway, a Clackamas, Ore.-based operating unit of USFreightways Corp., said it has opened two terminals, one in the Port of Tacoma, Wash., at the southern end of Puget Sound, and the other in Salem, Ore.

The terminals, designed and built to USF Reddaway’s specifications, replace terminals the company had leased.

The Tacoma terminal, on 11 acres with 57 doors, includes a card-lock dispensing system that allows monitoring of individual usage statistics and fueling data. The Salem facility comprises nine acres with 30 doors.

Both are part of USF Reddaway’s strategy of increasing company-owned assets, according to Ed Fitzgerald, executive vice president and chief operating officer.
