USTR, Commerce release subsidies enforcement report to lawmakers

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and Commerce Department issued a report to Congress Thursday that outlined their efforts to enforce compliance against unfair foreign government subsidies across a range of industries, including aerospace, steel, paper, semiconductors and fertilizers.

The report focuses particular attention on China's subsidy practices.

'This report demonstrates our continued efforts to monitor the subsidy practices of our trading partners around the world and our willingness to exercise our rights under the international trade rules that prohibit unfair subsidies,' said U.S. Trade Representative Susan Schwab in a statement.
