The new company, UTi CZ, will provide import, export and customs service for air and ocean freight and forwarding, warehousing and cargo handling facilities.
“The Czech Republic offers strong strategic development opportunities for the growth of our global network,” said Peter Thorington, chief executive for Europe.
The Prague subsidiary has 16 staffers. Principal UTi-CZ executives are Julian Keely, chief executive, based in Manchester, U.K.; Radovan Meiner, managing director; and Petr Pokorny, logistics manager. Meiner and Pokorny are based in Prague.
The new operation is part of the UTi Europe, which is directed by John Hextall, UTi president for Europe, Atlantic region.
