V. Ships acquires tanker specialist

V. Ships acquires tanker specialist Ship management company V.Ships said it has purchased the Dubai-headquartered tanker ship management specialist ITM from Wilhelmsen Ship Management. Terms of the sale were not released.
   “ITM enjoys a strong reputation in the management of tankers and chemical carriers and will strengthen our position in this important market sector and expand further our global network by increasing our presence in the Middle East,” said Bob Bishop, chief executive officer of V.Ships.
   He said the ITM brand will be retained and managing director Lars Modin will continue with the company.
   V.Ships is the world’s largest independent ship management company, providing a range of outsourcing services to more than 1,000 vessels.
