Port officials said the combination of the surrounding region’s grain production capacity and the port’s multimodal capabilities, including barge, truck and rail, will help Valero produce and distribute a large amount of ethanol.
Valero is a large refiner and marketer of petrochemical products and transportation fuels.
Valero Renewable Fuels now owns 11 ethanol plants, including two in Indiana.
