Van der Noordaa heads GL board
Erik van der Noordaa has been appointed board chairman of Germanischer Lloyd, effective Dec. 1.
He replaces Hermann J. Klein, who resigns from the post at his own request. Klein will retain his links to GL by serving as a consultant.
Van der Noordaa will also take over Klein's responsibility for GL's Maritime Services.
Van der Noordaa was chief operations officer of Gorinchem, Netherlands-based Damen Shipyards Group, which owns 35 companies with a total of 6,000 employees and a turnover of 1.2 billion euros.
