Vancouver USA port names trio of executives, raises exec director’s salary

Vancouver USA port names trio of executives, raises exec directorÆs salary The Washington state Port of Vancouver has added a trio of new faces to its management ranks and approved a salary increase for its executive director.
Earlier this month the port named Jonathan Eder as its human resources manager. Eder previously worked for dental equipment firm A-dec and the Oregon Child Development Coalition, most recently working as a human relations specialist for Anesthesiologists Associated in Beaverton. In his new role, Eder will manage all human resources functions such as compensation and benefits, family medical leave, recruitment, and employee-labor relations.
The port commission also appointed Kathy Holtby as the port's property manager. A former director of market feasibility for the former Red Lion Hotel Executive Office, Holtby most recently served as a real estate associate for Prudential NW Properties in sales and land development. Her responsibilities will include working with current and prospective tenants, managing leases, and negotiations for future development.
The port also announced Dave Hurt has joined the port as contracts manager. A former logistics officer in the U.S. Marine Corp, Hurt most recently worked for Clark County's public bus authority C-Tran where he managed the construction of new facilities and infrastructure. His responsibilities will include writing and reviewing contracts, bids, proposals, and assisting and managing small works and architect and engineer rosters.
In its final meeting of 2007 on December 21, the port commission also voted to increase the salary of port executive director Larry Paulson for next year.
Paulson's salary will increase 4 percent, starting Jan. 1, to $159,120. In another unanimous decision, the commission voted to establish a separate retirement account for Paulson that into which the port will deposit $23,868 per year for two years, effective April 1, 2008.
