Vancouver USA sells 20 acres to Farwest Steel

The Port of Vancouver in Washington state said Tuesday it has sold 20 acres of industrial land to Farwest Steel Corp.

The port's board of commissioners unanimously approved the $5.08 million sale at its Aug. 10 meeting.

'Selling property is not something the port does often or without careful consideration, but we feel this is in the best interests of both the port and the community,' said Jerry Oliver, port board president, in a statement.

Farwest plans to build a $25 million $30 million facility that will contain its distribution, processing, fabricating and office support at the Vancouver site. The project is expected to bring up to 225 industrial jobs to Clark County.
