Vanguard Logistics starts guaranteed expedited LCL ocean import service Vanguard Logistics Services is offering its U.S. import customers a guaranteed expedited less-than-containerload service for ocean freight from six Asian locations.
   The company said its 'PriorityAssured' ocean LCL service is able to offer faster transits due to priority devanning of inbound pre-cleared cargo, which in turn marries up with a prioritized truck service, allowing the freight to bypass traditional rail congestion.
   Vanguard Logistics is offering the service from Hong Kong, Shanghai, Ningbo, Dalian, Qingdao, Shenzen and Xiamen.
   If the schedule is not met, the customer will be refunded an unspecified portion of the shipment cost.
   'We have put serious thought and process re-engineering into designing this service offering,' said Jeff Lee, Vanguard Logistics’ regional managing director, North America. 'Over the last five months, we've worked on our systems and procedures to ensure not just the faster physical handling of freight but also expedited internal hand-offs and end-to-end visibility on our web site.
   “It's not enough to simply brief your staff to expedite a shipment — you have to ensure that the devanning of the freight is under your control and that you have enough freight moving inland and access to road transport so you can deliver on the promise. Creating services like this is really helping the importer's supply chain — true supply chain management.'
