Vanguard names Kewalram global COO

Vanguard Logistics Services said Monday it has appointed Biju Kewalram to global chief operating officer, effective Nov. 1.
Kewalram, based at the non-vessel-operating common carrier's Carson, Calif. headquarters, has been chief information officer at Vanguard for more than 10 years and has led the migration of the company's technology towards a modern platform with emphasis on a single operations platform, Web-based and electronically connected services.
As COO, Kewalram is to restructure the technology function into teams so that they work more directly with the operational business units, while still overseeing the NVO's global IT direction.
'The logical next step in our evolution as a customer-sensitive organization is to hear what our clients are saying about wanting to expend less effort on their part and more visibility in the entire quote to bill operational cycle as they transact business with us,' Kewalram said in a statement.
