Venezuela will ship diesel to Grenada

Venezuela's state oil company, Petr'leos de Venezuela, said it would ship 25,000 barrels of diesel fuel a month to Grenada to help the island nation with its energy needs.

The agreement includes a three-year contract to supply fuel under terms that are below standard market rates, part of an ongoing series of similar agreements between Venezuela and Caribbean nations, according to an Associated Press report.

The agreement will allow Grenada to cut electricity rates an estimated 7 percent, according to a statement released by Petr'leos de Venezuela.
