VITRAN REPORTS 1ST-QUARTER LOSS
Vitran Corp. Inc., the Toronto-based logistics firm, reported a first-quarter net loss of Can $1.3 million (about $841,000), compared to net income of Can $1.6 million in the year-earlier quarter.
Revenue increased 1.8 percent to Can $125.2 million ($81 million).
The company said that, while the U.S. and Canadian economies both experienced a first-quarter slowdown, its Canadian business “performed quite well considering the conditions, but the U.S. operation incurred a loss during the quarter.”
