The multimodal cargo airport saw 199.8 million tons of cargo in 2008, compared to 220.5 million in 2007. It's the second straight year of declining volume for the Columbus, Ohio, airport. In 2006, the airport handled 250.7 millions tons.
'The decline in cargo activity is also expected to negatively impact 2009,' said David Whitaker, the airport's vice president of business development.
