Wal-Mart Canada extends Exel unit deal    Canadian retail logistics company Supply Chain Management, a subsidiary of logistics giant Exel, has signed a five-year contract extension for its business with Wal-Mart Canada.
   SCM provides dedicated transportation, logistics and value-added services to Wal-Mart's 312 stores and supercenters throughout the country.
   Wal-Mart has used SCM in Canada for 15 years, with the logistics company operating five distribution centers with a total of 5 million square feet. The DCs handle general merchandise, dry groceries and imports. SCM also coordinates all outbound transportation activities and directs a regionally dedicated fleet of 150 tractors and 350 drivers delivering products from distribution centers to Wal-Mart stores.
   SCM was acquired by Exel in 2004 and operates multiple distribution centers in Mississauga and Cornwall, Ontario, and Calgary, Alberta.
