Wal-Mart supply chain head to deliver CSCMP keynote

Wal-Mart supply chain head to deliver CSCMP keynote Gary Maxwell, senior vice president of international supply chain for Wal-Mart Stores, will be the keynote speaker at the Council of Supply Chain Management Professional's 2009 annual conference, scheduled for Sept. 20-23 in Chicago.
   'His presentation will highlight the challenges and opportunities that exist globally for supply chains as they continue to evolve and add value to companies and their customers,' said Rick Blasgen, CSCMP president and chief executive officer, in a statement.
   Maxwell is responsible for supporting warehousing, transportation, and inventory management across Wal-Mart's international division. He joined the company as vice president of distribution and logistics for Sam's Club in 1999, and has held various positions in the company, including vice president of logistics administration and senior vice president of replenishment.
   Maxwell has titled his CSCMP keynote address 'World-Class versus Best-in-Market Supply Chains.'
