Wallenius Wilhelmsen adds ship

Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) has added the new ship, Parsifal, to its fleet.
A sister ship to Tonsberg, delivered in March, the 265-meter-long ship has a cargo volume of 138,000 cubic meters. Six fixed and three moveable decks mean the entire cargo hold can be arranged to carry high and heavy cargo such as excavators, bulldozers, and harvesters.
The ship is one of four being built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Nagasaki, Japan. It is WWL’s most fuel efficient vessel to date, with an optimized hull form and features such as streamlined rudder design and duck tail and an advanced turbo generator that produces electricity from waste, exhaust heat. In total, those features help reduce emissions per cargo unit by 10 to 15 percent, the company said.
