Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics gets Honda contract in Ohio

American Honda Motor Co. Inc. has selected Scandinavian shipping and logistics firm Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) to provide technical services at its manufacturing facility in East Liberty, Ohio.

Under the three-year agreement, WWL will provide end of the line vehicle processing, rail loading and truck staging for the Japanese vehicle manufacturer’s Civic, Element and CRV models. Upon reaching operational capacity, WWL will be processing nearly 1,000 cars per day at this site.

WWL already provides Honda with ocean transportation and terminal services.

“Our partnership with Honda is a continuation of our efforts to provide long-term clients with a broader scope of services within the factory to dealer spectrum,” said Chris Connor, president of WWL Americas. “We are delighted to work even more closely with Honda as we continue to expand our technical services capacity for vehicle manufacturers.”
