Wallenius Wilhelmsen, Subaru join up for Baltimore logistics facility

   Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics, a global shipping and logistics company, announced Thursday that it has signed a contract with Subaru of America to handle the auto manufacturer's vehicle processing business in Baltimore, Md.

   Wallenius Wilhelmsen expects to move up to 90,000 units per year, with Subaru becoming the company's anchor customer in Baltimore. Subaru recently decided to relocate its vehicle processing activities to Baltimore from Newport News, Va. To handle the new business, Wallenius Wilhelmsen will open up a temporary site in mid-August. A permanent facility is due to open in the second half of 2007.
