Wallenius Wilhelmsen to sharpen logistics image with name change    Scandinavian car carrier Wallenius Wilhelmsen Lines Jan. 1 will change its name to Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics to highlight the company’s “broader outbound logistics offering.”
   The company said it plans to become a global leader in outbound logistics for finished vehicles by 2010.
   “As a customer-driven partner we see that our clients are looking for more integrated logistics services to manage complex logistics networks, new manufacturing locations and different distribution patterns,” said Nils P. Dyvik, Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s chief executive officer.
   “Our customers are constantly looking for better ways to improve efficiency and the predictability of global distribution. We will meet this need by tailoring supply chain solutions to create value for customers changing needs. Our ambition is to define the industry standard in delivering these tailored logistics services to the marketplace,” Dyvik added.
   Wallenius Wilhelmsen said that it expects revenue of $2.8 billion this year, transporting 1.5 million vehicles by sea and handling a total of 3 million vehicles by land.
