Waltz named senior VP GCT Canada

GCT Global Container Terminals has appointed Eric Waltz to senior vice president of GCT Canada, effective Aug. 26.

   “He will be responsible for the profit and loss, and day to day management of our two container terminals in Canada, including Deltaport, the largest container terminal in the country,” said Michael E. Moore, president and chief executive officer for GCT Global Container Terminals, in a statement.

   Waltz is global operations officer at APM Terminals in Cape Town, South Africa, with overall responsibility of all APM terminals in the Africa region. He has also held operational and management positions for APM in Tacoma, Wash.; Los Angeles and Long Beach, Calif.; and Malaysia before arriving in Africa.

   GCT Global Container Terminals is a subsidiary of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Fund. The company operates four container terminals through three principal businesses in North America: TSI Terminal Systems in Vancouver and Delta, British Columbia; New York Container Terminal on Staten Island, N.Y.; and Global Terminal & Container Services in Bayonne, N.J.
