Weapons headed for Nicaragua confiscated by Spanish customs

Customs officers at the Spanish port of Algeciras on Tuesday confiscated more than 1,000 weapons sailing from Israel to Nicaragua aboard a Maersk Line container ship.

   Gov. Juan Jose Lopez Garzon of Spain’s southern Andalusia region, said officers confiscated 400 pistols, 300 rifles and 380 carbines from the Maersk Detroit that were not listed on the manifest. The consignment also contained 500 air guns, which were listed.
