Web deals give wholesale supplier growth

Aspen Logistics and United National Consumer Suppliers (UNCS) have entered an agreement that will cover the purchase, warehousing, and shipping of products into new online markets.
The agreement emerged in response to an increase in Internet shopping, especially online contest and daily deals that have enhanced the momentum of immediacy and whim shopping.
Aspen is a third-party logistics firm that has lanes starting at its operations in the western United States and entered a logistics deal with wholesaler UNCS about two years ago.
UNCS said prior experience combined with a slumping economy and the rise in Web-based sales helped it transition to a platform beyond wholesale distribution. The company noted its agreement with Aspen allows it to achieve numerous supply chain goals such as a 14-day window for the entire supply cycle of a recent product from its Ontario California facility.
