Web site to encourage global cooperation in trade facilitation

A new Web site has been launched to encourage global cooperation on trade and transportation facilitation issues.

The Web site, http://www.gfptt.org, was created jointly by the World Customs Organization, World Bank and the UN Trade Facilitation Network.

“As an open platform, it will allow GFP (Global Facilitation Partnership for Transportation and Trade) and UNTF partners to share their information and to better co-ordinate their activities and policy recommendations,” the WCO and World Bank said in a joint statement.

The Web site’s development was funded by the World Bank.

With a user name and password, all registered participants can enter essential information, practices and standards related to trade and transportation facilitation. “The information is presented by topics in the form of reference documents, recommendations, conventions, working groups, discussion groups and useful links,” the organizations said.
