Weber retires as CEO of Weber Distribution Weber Distribution said today its third generation owner Nick Weber is moving upstairs to become chairman after retiring as chief executive officer of the Los Angeles-based logistics and supply chain management provider.
   The company has reacted to Weber’s decision by promoting Bill Butler to the position of president and CEO and John Nutt to chief operating officer with immediate effect. Butler was senior vice president of client solutions while Nutt was senior vice president of operations.
   “I started out as a fork lift and truck driver and over the past 43 years I have held numerous positions, including chairman, president, CEO, COO and CFO,' Weber said.
   'It has always been my goal to transition from participating in the day-to-day management of Weber and to place the company in the hands of the next generation of management. While I will no longer be the CEO of the company, I will continue as chairman, which will keep me involved at a strategic level,' he added.
