WEI, CEO OF COSCO, JOINS HARVARD BUSINESS SCHOOL’S ADVISORY BOARD

   Capt. Wei Jiafu, president and chief executive officer of the state-owned China Ocean Shipping Co. group, will join the Asia-Pacific advisory board of Harvard Business School.

   COSCO said that Wei was invited to join the board by Kim B. Clark, dean of Harvard Business School.

   The Asia-Pacific advisory board of the prestigious American management school was set up in 1999, and serves to broaden the scope of the school’s research activities in Asia.

   Wei expressed his confidence that his participation in the board will further push forward the current cooperation between COSCO and Harvard Business School.

   Wei, who is already a guest professor of Tianjin University and of China People’s University, holds senior positions with several industry organizations. Wei was also recently appointed member of the central committee for discipline inspection at the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
