West Florida trade group formed    A group of Florida industry leaders in the Tampa Bay area have formed a trade association to develop import and export opportunities.
   The Tampa Bay Council of World Affairs will become a division within the association.
   ‘International trade is an excellent way for business to expand, but most do not have the knowledge or experience to take steps to sell or market themselves in overseas markets, said the Florida West Coast Foreign Trade Association (FWCFTA), in a statement on Monday.
   The new association will serve as a resource to develop trade opportunities for members’ products and services and identify overseas companies looking for new business partners in Florida.
   The FWCFTA will also conduct annual trade show expositions designed to attract buyers from Latin America and the Caribbean to the Tampa Bay and Florida West Coast region. These expositions will be focused on, but not limited to, agricultural technology and equipment, power generation, mining technology and equipment, transportation, heavy construction equipment, and other manufacturing and industrial services.
   On Jan. 20, the association will hold its first program, which includes a discussion on the impacts of recent economic reforms underway in Cuba.
