Westvaco Corp. of New York, a major producer of paper, packaging envelopes
and specialty chemicals, has signed a multi-year contract with APL Logistics to handle
distribution of its products.
APL will manage Westvaco’s transportation carrier and organize and
dispatch freight movements.
APL Logistics, based in Oakland, Calif., expects to manage 40,000
shipments a year to Westvaco customers in 70 countries.
APL will operate with Team Carriers, a Westvaco contractor that has
responsibility for trailer shuttling, spotting and trailer yard management.
