Westwood ship hit by rogue wave

A Westwood forest products/containership was hit by a rogue wave about 70 feet high in the Pacific Ocean Sunday night.

The wave smashed windows on the bridge and damaged electronics, forcing the 440-foot-long “Westwood Pomona” to seek temporary shelter in Coos Bay, Ore., the World newspaper in that city reported. Only one of the 22 crew members was slightly injured.
