Weyeneth selected as Panalpina North America CEO
Karl Weyeneth, who has been president and CEO of Miami-based Hellmann Worldwide Logistics since 2000, has been selected as Panalpina's regional CEO for North America.
Weyeneth was start as the North American chief'which covers the U.S. and Canada from regional headquarters in San Francisco'on February 1. He is replacing Peter Merath, who is retiring after a career with Panalpina that lasted more than 40 years.
As the president and CEO of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics for the Americas, Weyeneth has had oversight over the Hellmann network for North America and South America. Hellmann originated in Germany but opted to base its Worldwide Logistics operation in Miami. Hellmann's Miami facility west of Miami International Airport is used to funnel goods from Europe and Asia throughout the Americas, and is similarly the key connection point between the Americas.
