Wheeler to oversee Georgia portsÆ trade development

   The Georgia Ports Authority has promoted John Wheeler to director of trade development. He will replace Byron Hock who will retire in August after 14 years with the port authority.

   Wheeler has served as general manager of trade development for the past eight years. Prior to moving to Savannah, Wheeler worked as manager of carrier and cargo sales in the GPA’s New York-New Jersey office.

   Wheeler will oversee a staff of 37 including offices in Buenos Aires, Oslo, and Tokyo, and agency representation in Hong Kong, Melbourne, Shanghaim Seoul, Sydney and Taipei.
