WICKHAM LEADS ATA’s RESEARCH GROUP

WICKHAM LEADS ATAÆS RESEARCH GROUP    The American Trucking Associations has picked Michael W. Wickham to be chairman of its research group.
   The research group, known as the ATA Foundation, provide scientific information to suport policy and advocacy goals of the U.S. trucking industry.
   Wickham, chairman and chief executive officer at Roadway Express, said he would create a five-year research and finance plan for the foundation, which will be presented at the ATA Management Conference and Exhibition this fall. His term as foundation chairman is two years.
'    The foundation, which is under the operational direction of Susan M. Coughlin, chief operating officer, is involved in 15 research projects. These studies include safety and human factors, information technology and environmental issues in the motor carrier industry.
