Wilmington marks first export shipment of Ford vehicles

The Alliance St. Louis left the Delaware port bound for the Middle East.

Earlier this month the Port of Wilmington, Del., loaded its first shipment of new Ford vehicles destined for the Middle East aboard the Alliance St. Louis, a specialized roll-on/roll-off vessel operated by Höegh Autoliners.
This was the inaugural port call of a multiyear contract secured by logistics partner AutoPort Inc.
With a service frequency of three to four ship calls per month, Höegh will be delivering Ford products — the F150 pickup truck, Taurus, Edge, Explorer and Lincoln Continental — to Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait.
