Winemaker Yellow Tail to use Manhattan for fulfillment

Casella Family Brands, Australia’s biggest wine exporter, implemented the software provider’s supply chain commerce solutions to keep pace with rapid global export growth.

   Australia-based beverages distributor Casella Family Brands, known internationally for its Yellow Tail wine brand, has implemented supply chain commerce solutions from Manhattan Associates, the software provider said Monday.
   The deployment is designed to optimize order fulfillment processes across its global service operations.
   Casella has grown from a small family-owned business in 1969 to become Australia’s largest family-owned winery, driven by the creation of its Yellow Tail label in 2001. Twenty-seven percent of bottled table wine exported from Australia is Yellow Tail and Casella ships more 12.5 million of cases of wine to more than 50 countries annually.
   “Casella recognized it needed new technology that could improve visibility of inventory across its two distribution centers and offer the required degree of scalability to improve product availability and drive future growth,” Manhattan Associates said in a statement.
