WITASS to raise Jamaica terminal handling charge

The London-based Association of West India Trans-Atlantic Steam Ship Lines (WITASS), a carrier group in the Europe/Caribbean trade, will increase its terminal handling charges for Jamaica.

Effective June 1, the new charge will be $218 per imported container and $176 for containers set for export.

“These increases are necessary to offset the ongoing disbursements that Lines incur in Kingston due to CESS charges,” WITASS said.

Members of WITASS are CMA-CGM, CSAV, Hamburg-Sud and Hapag-Lloyd.
