Woods to retire from Census Bureau’s Foreign Trade Division

Woods to retire from Census BureauÆs Foreign Trade Division    Chuck Woods, assistant chief for data collection at the U.S. Census Bureau's Foreign Trade Division, confirmed he will retire Jan. 4.
   Woods has been a visible presence at trade industry conferences to help exporters understand the requirements for filing shipper export declarations and has been involved in several recent efforts to increase the accuracy of data submitted by the shippers and their intermediaries.
   'I thoroughly enjoyed my job. It's one of the best jobs in the federal service,' Woods told American Shipper.
   The Foreign Trade Division faces the loss of experienced managers as several of them become eligible for retirement (see December American Shipper, page 46).
