WORLD AIRWAYS PROMOTES THREE

   World Airways Inc. said it has promoted three of its senior staff, who will assume their roles June 1.

   John Ellington, who rejoined the company in January as chief operating officer, will add the duties and title of president. Ellington served as World Airways’ vice president of operations and deputy COO from June 1999 to September 2000. He had been with Delta Air Lines for over 30 years.

   Randy Martinez is being promoted to executive vice president, marketing and administration, from his previous role of information officer. Martinez joined World in October 1998 as director of crew resources.

   Charles Addison, senior director of strategic planning and contracts, will become executive vice president, operations. Addison is a 14-year veteran of World Airways.

   Hollis Harris, who had assumed duties and title of president beginning this January, will return to his previous position of chairman and chief executive officer.

World Airways is a U.S.-certified air carrier providing transportation services for international passenger and cargo carriers and the U.S. military.
