Worldwide Flight Services expands

WFS has acquired a controlling stake in Orbital Group, ushering in growth in the Brazilian market.    Worldwide Flight Services entered the Brazilian cargo-handling market by acquiring a controlling share of Orbital Group, WFS said in a statement.   
   “We’ve been looking for an entry point to the Latin America market for a number of years,” WFS President and Chief Executive Officer Olivier Bijaoui said. He added Brazil was a clear choice due to its economic strength, growth and scale of commercial aviation support for WFS entering the Brazilian market.   
   Orbital Group operates at 19 airports across Brazil and handles about 23,000 flights a year for more than 30 airlines, according to WFS. The managing director of Orbital Group, Rubens Pereira Leitão Filho, will continue in his role as shareholder in the company.
