Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics has taken delivery of the third of eight new roll-on/roll-off vessels that will use the new, larger Panama Canal locks.
Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) has taken delivery of the third of eight new post-panamax roll-on/roll-off vessels to its fleet.
The HERO (High Efficiency Ro/Ro)-class Theben joined sister vessels Thalatta and Thermopylae in the line of ro/ro vessels which will take advantage of the new vessel size limit of the third set of Panama Canal locks expected to start operations in June, WWL said.
The Theben measures about 200 meters long, 36.5 meters wide and includes five liftable car decks. The vessel can transport up to 8,000 car equivalent units.
