Xiamen terminal receives five rubber-tired gantry cranes

   Xiamen International Container Terminals (XICT) has received five rubber-tired gantry cranes (RTGCs) from Shanghai-based Zhenhua Port Machinery Co..

   The cranes are capable of lifting one container over five, and can straddle seven rows of containers.

   XICT, located in Fujian province, southern China, is a joint venture between Hutchison Delta Ports and Xiamen Haicang Port Co. It is situated at Haicang in the Xiamen Special Economic Zone.

   “The new RTGCs will enhance the terminal yard operation to handle the increasing container traffic volumes experienced in Fujian province,” said Edward Tang, general manager of XICT.
